We are on a mission to revolutionize our business landscape, including revitalizing our Schedule Planning and Control systems. Therefor data and technology go hand in hand. Business Platform Integral Planning & Control enables a multi-disciplinary team of teams to create our flight schedule, from inception to Day Of Operation and beyond. Learning from past performance, we build the complex calculations engines and tools required to balance commercial aspects and operational robustness. On the Day of Operation, we solve today's disruptions before they become tomorrow's problems.
As a Platform Architect, you will be at the forefront of designing an innovative architecture that drives state-of-the-art autonomous solutions, enhance employee satisfaction, and ensure unforgettable travel experiences for our passengers. Your work directly contributes to making KLM a frontrunner in sustainability. 

The Platform Architect captures the architectural tasks and responsibilities that are covered in the business platform. The Platform Architect constructs the platform target architecture roadmap (themes and epics), maintains overview of technical capabilities across the platform, supports teams in designing the architecture of products and identifies relevant technologies for platform development or architectural simplification. The Platform Architect adapts and implements the enterprise architecture principles in the platform architecture and contributes to changes in the enterprise architecture principles.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Innovation and Leadership: Develop, maintain and execute the architecture roadmap for Business Platform Integral Planning & Control, aligned with KLM’s ambition of leveraging technological advancements to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ensuring the architecture complies with enterprise-wide principles and target architecture.
•    Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to integrate innovative, highly performant solutions that simplify and optimize our IT landscape. Defining integration patterns aligned with the broader Air France KLM application landscape.
•    Sustainable Practices: Incorporate sustainable technologies and practices into the platform architecture, supporting KLM's commitment to environmental responsibility.

Jouw profiel

We are looking for an ambitious architect with strong analytical skills and the ability to make a significant impact. You have excellent communication skills, capable of discussing solutions with management and explaining complex concepts clearly. You are skilled in modeling business problems into coherent and consistent architectural designs. You can create high-level and detailed architecture designs tailored to different audiences.

- Expertise in designing complex, distributed systems with many interacting components.

- Adaptive to changing requirements and priorities.

- Extensive IT knowledge, including up-to-date state-of-the-art technologies and industry best practices in engineering and data science.

- 5+ years of experience in IT architecture, preferably in a development-driven environment.

- Experience in identifying performance bottlenecks and optimizing system performance through effective architecture design.

- Strong technical background, including:

•  API design and management
•  Domain driven design
•  Serverless and microservice architectures
•  Cloud (Azure and GCP)
•  System integration and database technologies
•  ArchiMate and Sparx Enterprise Architect

- Experience with agile and DevOps practices.

- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
