What are you going to do?
As an ETS & SAF Compliance Officer, you are responsible for the complete and correct execution of emission- and SAF-related legal obligations. This includes compliance with legislation such as EU ETS, CORSIA, and ReFuelEU, as well as contributing to future regulations.
Among other things, you will create Proof of Sustainability documents, ETS monitoring, reporting and verification plans, and the emission plan under ETS regulations, while working on optimizations that deliver financial benefits. Additionally, you will represent KLM in consultation structures and contribute to innovative sustainability projects and strategic advice.
You will also be part of the fuel department, participating in SAF and ETS procurement activities.
Furthermore, you will:
- Monitor compliance with regulations and prepare reports;
- Coordinate audits and verifications with external and internal stakeholders;
- Keep track of the latest legislative developments and translate them into workable processes;
- Take the lead in pilot projects aimed at emission reduction;
- Analyze costs and advise on strategic choices for optimization.
Where do you land?
You will join the dynamic team of the fuel department in Amstelveen, part of KLM’s finance and procurement organization. Here, you will work closely with colleagues from the sustainability office, flight operations, legal, and other departments. Together, you strive for a more sustainable future in aviation.
Your profile
You easily analyze complex regulations and translate them into concrete work processes. You switch smoothly between strategic thinking and operational execution. You can effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, both inside and outside the organization. In addition, you know how to lead innovative projects and achieve results that contribute to KLM’s sustainability goals.
Additionally:
- You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, such as environmental sciences, aviation engineering, or sustainability;
- You have at least 5 years of work experience in aviation or a similar sector, with knowledge of ETS and ESG;
- You have experience with policy consultations, audits, and innovative sustainability projects;
- You speak and write fluent Dutch and English.
