Introduction
As Manager Business Analysis, you are responsible for the central Passenger Business Analysis team of 20 people. This is a diverse, broad, and comprehensive role: you ensure that the financial planning and reporting of your department runs smoothly. You are the right hand to the VP Finance & Control Passenger Business and act as their sparring partner on various topics. Do you want to play a crucial role here? We will be happy to meet you!
What are you going to do?
You conduct analyses, advise management, and assist with important decisions. You collaborate closely with colleagues from different teams, ensure data is accurate and usable, and continuously look for smarter, more efficient processes. Finally, you monitor compliance with policies and help mitigate risks.
What will you do?
- Manage, coordinate, direct, and improve the Planning & Control cycle: Ensure an effective and reliable financial Planning & Control cycle, including forecasting, closing, budgeting, and related reporting.
- Analysis & Advice: Perform (ad-hoc) business analyses and make recommendations to support strategic direction and provide in-depth business insights for well-informed decisions.
- Data-driven Finance & Governance: Promote and implement a robust data structure within the Finance domain, ensuring availability, integrity, and use of data for performance management. You are a driving force behind further data utilization within Passenger Business and the use of associated BI tools including PowerBI.
- Process Improvement & Innovation: Lead process simplification, automation, and digital transformation within Finance to optimize financial processes.
- Business Partnership: Serve as a key financial sparring partner, translating complex needs into actionable insights.
- Leadership: Lead, develop, and inspire the Business Analysis (and BI) team to align reporting with business needs by centralizing activities, harmonizing definitions and KPIs, and improving the efficiency and quality of reporting processes. You also contribute to the company-wide development of the finance business analysis function at KLM.
- Internal Control: Strengthen and embed internal control frameworks within established policies and governance structures to ensure reliable financial insights, mitigate risks, and support compliant business operations. This includes DoR, ELC, ICF, FRA, ORS, and coordinating the external audit for Passenger Business.
Where do you land?
As Manager Business Analysis, you work within KLM Passenger Business, the largest business unit of KLM. You report to the VP Finance of Passenger Business and lead the central business analysis team. The team consists of one manager consolidation and reporting, three controllers planning and consolidation, fourteen finance business analysts (central and decentralized), two finance process managers, and one AO-IC manager. There is also a strong connection with the business analysis team of AF/KL Commercial.
Your profile
- Master’s degree level of working and thinking, preferably with a quantitative background (e.g., Finance, Engineering, Econometrics);
- At least 10 years of experience in financial leadership roles, including experience in transformation or change environments;
- Proven experience managing complex financial domains, multidisciplinary teams, and data-driven transformation initiatives;
- Strong preference for experience in aviation, logistics, or global operations;
- Networks at various organizational levels: cross-divisional/airlines, external auditors, corporate boards;
- Contributes to company-wide strategy, leads domain-wide financial innovation and performance management;
- Drives cross-domain innovation (e.g., AI, predictive analytics), owner of the reporting roadmap.
