Hours per week: 40
Education: Wo; Hbo

Introduction

The world is at your feet as lead process installations at KLM Cargo. You will be translating complex processes into innovative technical solutions for our new cargo terminal. Think of automated installations that ensure safe, efficient, and future-proof cargo handling. All of this in an environment where aircraft taxi pass your window, cargo rolls by, and innovation is in the air. At KLM, you’ll have the chance to exceed yourself time and again.

What are you going to do?

As lead process installations, you coordinate the design and implementation of automated installations for the new cargo terminal, except where these fall within the IT domain. You make sure that installations such as quick truck load and unload, ASRS, PCHS, workstations, and AGV/AMR fully meet logistical and functional requirements. You monitor progress, advise management, and ensure that all installations are safe, efficient, and of high quality.

Further:

  • you lead and coordinate the implementation of complex, division-wide processes and systems within the new cargo terminal project;
  • you are responsible for planning, budgeting, and resource allocation;
  • you manage multiple teams and work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders at senior management level;
  • you identify and mitigate risks and ensure that all installations meet the required standards and quality criteria;
  • you report progress and results to management and stakeholders, and advise the NCT management team on the best process installations.

Where do you land?

You will join KLM Cargo, as part of the team working on the new cargo terminal project. This team is part of the Business Process Improvement (BPI) department. You will work closely with colleagues who, like you, are passionate about logistics and process improvement. Your workplace will be the cargo building at Schiphol Center, right in the middle of KLM’s air freight operations.

Your profile

You have extensive experience in project management and know how to independently initiate and manage complex projects. You think strategically, work methodically, and are able to effectively connect multiple stakeholders and teams. You switch smoothly between strategy and execution, maintain oversight, and engage people in your plans to ensure that results are truly achieved.

Further:

  • you hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in logistics or systems engineering, or equivalent working and thinking level;
  • you have at least 10 years of experience in process optimization, project management, or a similar role;
  • you have proven experience in installation projects with a budget exceeding 2 million euros;
  • you can work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from operational staff to management;
  • you have experience in functional leadership and know how to create support and secure resources within the organization;
  • you have specific knowledge of market orientation;
  • you have an affinity with operations, technology, and innovation, combined with a hands-on mentality, where operational experience is considered an asset;
  • you speak and write fluent Dutch and English.
