Introduction
Come aboard for your next role: Project Management Officer at Air France KLM Cargo! Bring structure to the design and delivery of the New Cargo Terminal, and support the project team as operations move to the new air cargo terminal. You’ll help keep the organization running smoothly and contribute to memorable flights.
What are you going to do?
As the program director’s right hand, you’ll keep track of the schedule, risks, approved project plans, decisions and documents. The project is entering the design phase. The current focus is the request for proposal (RFP) process to select a systems integrator for the automated systems. You’ll make sure information is accurate, actions are followed up and the team works from the same up-to-date plans.
You will also:
- create the integrated project schedule for the next phase, update it proactively, and identify critical paths, dependencies and deviations;
- document the approved scope, budget and timelines, monitor these baselines, and record changes to maintain a clear audit trail of decisions;
- prepare management and progress reports;
- prepare for meetings and take minutes;
- organize and facilitate RFP processes, workshops and site visits across the LHS, Building & Site, and IT workstreams;
- set up SharePoint as the central source for project documents, keep it organized and current, and serve as the team’s main point of contact;
- manage the overall risk register, monitor actions assigned to risk owners and follow up with them when needed.
Where do you land?
You’ll work at Schiphol Centrum, right next to the aircraft apron and above the operational air cargo handling area. You’ll join the close-knit New Cargo Terminal project team of around 35 professionals. The team is part of KLM Cargo’s Business & Process Improvement department and is working on the design and delivery of the new terminal, as well as the move into it. You’ll collaborate across disciplines on a complex project shaping the future of air cargo handling.
Your profile
You quickly bring structure to complex information and spot when a schedule, overview or document is inaccurate. You take initiative, get things done and follow up with colleagues on outstanding actions in a constructive way. When circumstances change, you look for a practical solution. You pay attention to the people around you, encourage collaboration, and bring energy and humor to the team even during busy periods. This makes you a dependable support to the program director and the entire project team.
You also:
- have a level of education and professional ability equivalent to a Dutch higher professional education (HBO) degree;
- have demonstrable experience in project support, project controls or a project management office;
- have experience with risk management, integrated project schedules, critical paths, and monitoring scope, budget and timelines;
- can carefully document project changes and decisions to maintain a transparent audit trail;
- are proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and SharePoint, and enjoy creating clear, visually engaging presentations;
- have an interest in logistics processes and complex, long-term projects;
- depending on your experience and what you feel comfortable with, actively contribute to the substance of the project, including project documents and decisions;
- You have an excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
The following competencies complete your profile: attention to quality, initiative, planning and organization, understanding business processes, and collaboration.
