Introduction
Working as a service technician PCHS at KLM Cargo: an opportunity you really don’t want to miss. Maintain and improve the cargo handling systems at Schiphol. What are you going to do?
You keep cargo handling systems running through maintenance, repairs and improvements. During your shift, you alternate between planned work and faults that need immediate attention. You investigate the cause, restore the system and inform users. From the central control room, you monitor the systems, coordinate the response to faults and decide what needs attention first.
Furthermore:
- you identify faults through visual inspections and testing equipment and resolve them;
- you carry out preventive maintenance and bring in external contractors when needed, supervising their work;
- you record completed work in the administration system and keep maintenance documentation up to date;
- you contribute to technical projects and improvements and advise on new solutions;
- you ensure safety during the work and coordinate the approach with the colleagues and departments involved, including colleagues in the central control room.
Where do you land?
You work from KLM Cargo’s operational office at Schiphol, in an international environment where cargo handling continues around the clock. Together with a team of service technicians, you keep the technical systems supporting these operations running. You have daily contact with the Freight Control Coordinator, colleagues in the central control room and other operational departments within Cargo.
Your profile
When a system fails, you investigate the cause step by step and work towards a solution. You check your work carefully and look for ways to prevent further faults. You clearly explain the situation to colleagues and external contractors and agree on what needs to be done. You actively collaborate with others and make independent decisions when the situation calls for it.
Furthermore:
- you have professional knowledge and ability equivalent to at least Dutch MBO level 4, preferably with a diploma in electrical engineering or a related field;
- you have experience maintaining and repairing technical systems, preferably in the logistics sector;
- you have a good command of written and spoken Dutch and English;you are willing to work a 24/7 shift pattern, including day, evening and night shifts;
- you hold a category B driving licence.
