Internal Communications CS Internship

Type of vacancy: Internship
City: Schiphol Oost
Hours per week: 32-40
Education: Hbo
Apply before: 11/15/2026

Introduction

Independent, creative, and challenging: that is what this internship is all about. Do you want to contribute to the strategy of Component Services and use communication to connect and engage employees? Do you like taking on independent projects and do you have plenty of ideas? Then we are looking for you!

What are you going to do?

You contribute to and help further improve internal communications within Component Services. You keep communication channels up to date, create content, and help keep employees involved and informed. Of course, you do this together with other colleagues, including another communications intern. No two days will be the same! Below is an overview of what you will be doing:

  • Managing communication channels such as the news app, newsletter, e-mail, and digital signage screens.
  • Writing, developing, and publishing content.
  • Producing videos, photos, and other communication materials.
  • Designing infographics, posters, flyers, and visuals.
  • Collaborating with other departments within Engineering & Maintenance.
  • Supporting events and meetings.
  • Contributing to communication plans and campaigns.

Where do you land?

You will do your internship at Component Services, part of KLM Engineering & Maintenance at Schiphol-Oost. With 850 employees, Component Services maintains aircraft components and provides component availability to Air France-KLM and worldwide customers.

Your profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative communications student who dares to take the initiative and wants to make a visible impact within our organization. You are a true communicative all-rounder: you stand your ground, are not afraid to make mistakes to learn from them, and dare to give your opinion and advice. You work just as easily independently as together in a team.

Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following:

  • You are a 3rd- or 4th-year HBO student in the direction of Communication.
  • Writing texts comes easily to you and you have an affinity with internal communication.
  • You have an interest in or experience with photography, creating visual content, and making videos/vlogs.
  • You are proactive, independent, and like to think along creatively.
  • The working language in the department is Dutch; therefore, you have an excellent command of the Dutch language.
  • You are available from February 2027 for 4 to 5 days a week for a period of 5 to 6 months (our preference is for a working internship; a longer period is certainly possible in consultation!).

We offer

KLM offers you a highly instructive experience in a dynamic organisation in which you will play an important role. You can develop yourself considerably during this internship, both personally and professionally. In addition, this internship offers you the opportunity to build up your network, as you will be working with many different KLM employees!

Another advantage of a internship at KLM is the KLM Taxibaan association run by and for interns. This association expands your network and organises fun events and interesting excursions within the KLM organisation. There is also a internship allowance.

Ready for your next destination?

Then don't wait any longer and apply for this function before the final boarding call on 11/15/2026! You don't need to write a cover letter; during your application we will ask you some specific questions. You will be notified within two weeks of the closing date of the vacancy.

Did you know that according to research, women are less likely to apply than men when they don't meet all the job requirements? What a shame. Because, in our view, 'the perfect candidate' is a myth. So, if you have the drive to grow in aspects of this role, we look forward to your application.
