What are you going to do?

Thanks to you, our aircraft are safe and ready for use on time. You will ensure that maintenance in our hangars at Schiphol run flawlessly. By rolling up your sleeves, managing your team of technicians and keeping a watchful eye on things. Are you in danger of not achieving the desired result on time? Then you intervene immediately - because it is your and your team's responsibility to make sure the planes are ready in time for their next flight. 

In addition: 

  • you carry out inspection, modification and maintenance work; 
  • you provide technical supervision; 
  • with a Certificate of Release to Service, you decide whether aircraft are safe to fly; 
  • you contribute to the development of your teammates. 

Where do you land?

You will land at KLM Engineering & Maintenance at Schiphol-East or Centrum: a dynamic, inspiring and international environment. We are looking for ground engineers for various aircraft, including the 737, 777, 787, A320 NEO and A330 - both in the hangar and in the line. So your workplace and team are not yet fixed. But together we are sure to find an environment that suits you! At E&M, we work in shifts. Evening, night and weekend shifts are part of this. 

Your profile

You are expected to be independent and your own input is important. As we are working on process improvements within the Airframe organisation, you are expected to be open to change.
Contributing to the problem-solving, showing ownership, being solution-oriented and being stress-resistant play a major role in your daily work. It is also important that you have an eye for the correct application of safety regulations (SMS).

 

In addition:

  • As a Lead Ground Engineer, you are fully part of your team. You help your team members to get the best out of themselves;
  • You have a good ability to think ahead and take initiative to ensure that processes are and remain well invested. The councilors in your team feel supported and together you create a platform for discussion and structural improvements.
  • Your team members are given the space they need to function optimally and know where to find you if they are at a loss;
  • You hold a Part 66 AML (Aircraft Maintenance Licence B.1. or B.2.);
  • Good command of (technical) English both spoken and written is a must.

  • A gross salary between €4.110,96 and €5.458,05 per month;
