In short

The Financial Controller ensures the reliable and timely financial reporting (‘financial accounting’) for Cygnific Group to internal and external stakeholders within the financial accounting principles set by the parent company KLM N.V. and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Dutch GAAP, IFRS). 

You are the first point of contact for Cygnific Group finance procedures and consolidation, with a functionally steering responsibility (Hierarchical responsibility resigns with the Director Finance & Control). 

What are you going to do?

Key Result Areas 

1. Financial closing & reporting  
The financial controller manages and safeguards the reliable and timely financial closing and reporting (‘financial accounting’). Part of this is the reporting of the financial statements (balance sheet, profit & loss) both internally and externally (KLM Corporate Control) while adhering to strict deadlines. 

2. Internal control and accounting procedures  
You are overall responsible for the adherence to the accounting principles set by KLM N.V. Develop, implement, and maintain financial procedures and internal controls in line with accounting principles and external guidelines. 

3. Financial consolidation Cygnific Group 
You are responsible for the set up and maintaining of the planning and control cycle and in concert prepare annual reporting. You are the leader of projects within the financial controlling domain, such as setting up financial consolidation functionality for CYGNIFIC GROUP. 

4. Salary administration  
The financial controller manages and executes the internal controls over the salary administration and settlement of the payment obligations towards the employees according to the Cygnific labour conditions (ABCygnific guide) and remuneration policy, within the boundaries of the Dutch fiscal and social legislation against the most favourable conditions. 

5. Tax  
You will be overall responsible for all tax related items related to the Cygnific operation, including the relationship with AF & KLM corporate Tax Department. 

6. Sales and purchase contract management  
You are responsible for safeguarding that the sales and purchasing contracting processes are executed according to agreed standards and policies. 

7. Continuous improvement  
Signalling and taking action upon malfunctions in processes and procedures and propose improvements.

What we offer you

  • A competitive salary between EUR 4500 - 5500 gross per month based on 40 hours a week. 

  • A one-year contract with the prospect of permanent employment; 

  • Position for 40 hours a week;

  • A travel allowance of €0.19 per km. (max. 50 km one way) or full reimbursement of public transport costs with an NS Business Card (for commuting and business trips). Private travel with the Business Card is permitted, but the costs are automatically deducted from your salary. 

  • A work-from-home allowance of €2.40 per day; 

  • A holiday allowance, a festive end-of-year bonus, a good pension plan and a discount on KLM flight tickets through a so-called IPB (if place available) scheme, after one year of employment. 

  • Working from abroad (Max. 3 times a year for 4 weeks). Please note: specific rules apply. 

  • A pleasant and inspiring (newly renovated!) workplace at the Westerpark in Amsterdam; 

  • Social events such as an annual party, Cygnific BBQ and a little-Friday XXL every three months; 

  • A well-balanced and flexible hybrid working model (possibility to work from home); 

  • Start date: as soon as possible.
