EPCOR - a subsidiary of Air France/KLM - maintains and repairs Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), which drive the main engines and provide light and air in the aircraft as well as various aircraft components installed throughout the aircraft, for more than 100 airlines worldwide.
As Technical Sales Manager based in the Americas, you will be a key focal point for major international airline customers based in the Americas for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of Auxiliary Power Units (APU) and aircraft components. You will assist in identifying and qualifying opportunities and pursue sales leads for EPCOR. Together with the joint sales organization of Air France KLM Engineering & Maintenance (GEMCO), you must be able to prepare the calculation for proposals and negotiate maintenance agreements, ranging from single event activities to long-term maintenance contracts. Based on the customers’ needs, you will be required to assist in the preparation of tailor-made technical maintenance proposals and contracts to support the operation of the customer.
As Technical Sales Manager you directly participate in the development of the sales strategy for the region, together with joint support of the Commercial team in Amsterdam and the GEMCO out of Miami, USA. It’s your responsibility to drive sales within the region and maximize profitability of existing agreements. In addition, you will act as support for the Customer Support department of EPCOR on existing maintenance agreements and establish long-term relationships with airlines and other potential customers in the region. You will gather and analyse data in order to deliver regular business reviews to customers and present these findings to EPCOR to ensure the best customer experience possible. As a part of the Commercial organization of EPCOR, you will report directly to the Commercial Director in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Job requirements
We are looking for candidates that have technical knowledge and experience in the MRO side of aviation. You must be result driven, proactive and customer focussed. In addition, you must have relevant sales experience, and be comfortable preparing maintenance proposals and contracts in an international environment. Minimum requirements are:
- A Bachelor is required, preferably technical and/or commercial oriented.
- A minimum of five years of work experience in the aviation industry with preferably APU or Engine experience or a minimum of 7 years work experience in a similar technical function in a B2B environment is required.
- Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English language. Dutch would be a preference.
- Excellent knowledge in Excel and Word and other Office related apps. Experience with ERP/CRM systems.
