Introduction

In order to get the most out of our Embraer fleet, we are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join our Technical Services & Fleet Development team. The team is responsible for continuing airworthiness of KLM Cityhopper’s fleet and the tactical/strategic development of the fleet. The goal is to optimize fleet availability, asset utilization, total cost of ownership and performance. The Contract Manager will contribute to this goal, by contracting various suppliers against the optimal terms & conditions.

What are you going to do?

You will be responsible for tendering, drafting, negotiating, and administration of contracts for a wide range of services and products. The services includes among other aircraft maintenance, component maintenance, engines & APU maintenance, and AOG support. You will also be responsible for setting up contracts for the purchase of (spare) parts, material for modifications and specific software. The number of active contracts that you manage jointly with other Contract Managers is about 100, worth over 1 billion Euros, with about 30 contacts to be added or changed every year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely initiation of new contracts, or contract changes;
  • Review scope of work with subject matter experts, determine the project resources and advise Management Team about priority, urgency and planning;
  • Draft contracts within the pre-determined requirements and ensure that contracts comply with the applicable laws and regulations;
  • Select potential suppliers and negotiate terms & conditions;
  • Analyze proposals and advise Management Team;
  • Arrange timely contract approval;
  • Organize contract debriefing and handover of contracts to the Vendor Manager;
  • You keep an eye on developments in the market and consult with partner airlines.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Economics or Business Administration;
  • At least five years of relevant experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably within the aviation industry or a similar highly technical industry;
  • You have experience in making and reviewing contracts, including legal clauses;
  • You have a proven track record in negotiating, have excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills;
  • You have extensive knowledge of and experience in aircraft maintenance and the applicable regulations (including Part 145, Part M / Part CAMO and IOSA);
  • You are willing to go the extra mile to get the best results and you are used to working independently;
  • You are accurate and have an eye for detail;
  • You know when good enough is good enough;
  • You have good communication skills, and have an excellent command of English, both verbally and in writing;
  • You have experience in project management.
