Introduction

The world is at your feet as a finance business analyst at KLM Commercial, with the primary area of focus being Business Global Sales AFKL and Business Sales Planning AFKL. You'll be responsible for optimizing our Global Sales organization, including incentive contracts and cost management. You'll also be responsible for optimizing our Sales Planning organization, focusing on the Corporate Bluebiz Program. At KLM, you'll work in a dynamic work environment where innovation and collaboration are key, and you'll have the opportunity to continuously develop yourself.

What are you going to do?

In addition to organizing and implementing planning & control processes such as month-end closing, forecasting, and budgeting, you will spend a large part of your time as a sparring partner for, among others, the Corporate Program BlueBiz with the Sales Planning management team and the Business Controller Global Sales & Sales Planning.

You will:

  • Proactively advising the business controller on the latest trends in the result and forecast
  • Create presentations with a clear storyline on complex topics. For example, BlueBiz program and SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel)
  • Maintaining relationships with stakeholders and managing stakeholder expectations within these businesses
  • Acting as a fully-fledged sparring partner for the business controller and manager business analysis on both an analytical and strategic level 
  • Preparation of budget and forecast in accordance with the Business Controller. In addition, responsible for liaising with various business units regarding expected developments and alignment of the Budget/Forecast models
  • Understands the effect of bookings on P&L and balance sheet positions. Advises the business controller on the impact of current and proposed accounting methods on P&L, balance sheet positions 
  • Ensuring complete and correct financial administration, as well as coordinating charges and settlements with other business units, between AF and KL and third-party invoicing.
  • Explores the latest technologies for process optimization within the Finance domain (Outside-in view) on his own initiative and gives substance to this within the Finance domain (Outside-in view)

Where do you land?

You'll be based at KLM's head office in Amstelveen, where you'll be part of a team of nine professionals within AFKL Commercial. You'll report to the Business Controller for Global Sales & Sales Planning, AFKL.
In this international environment you will work closely with colleagues from both airlines.

Your profile

Someone who can quickly analyze the root causes of financial developments, thinks structurally, and is always looking for connections. Someone who sees opportunities to gain new insights by cleverly combining existing information and critically examines repetitive tasks. You are able to explain complex matters clearly. You balance between "business challenge" and "business support." 

 

In addition, you have:

  • HBO/WO work and way of thinking and at least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with (business) analyses, knowledge of financial accounting and systems
  • Knowledge of relevant reporting tools (e.g. BI/MI applications, SAP, Power BI, CXO, etc)
  • You are technology-driven and innovative.
  • You quickly master new tools, systems and data models
  • You have a good command of the English language, both spoken and written
