Introduction

For Air France Industries/KLM E&M, it is important to have a flexible IT landscape that fits well with the needs of its strategic objectives.

The world of aircraft maintenance is constantly changing. Core processes demand continuous optimisation (including through Digitalisation) and predictive maintenance (facilitated by Big Data) plays an increasingly important role. Market changes demand better integration with subsidiaries, suppliers and customers and greater flexibility and transparency in the logistics process.

The IT organisation responds to this by approaching the development of the application landscape from modern architectural principles, increasingly anticipating customer demand by means of reference architectures and basing the way of working on agile principles based on the SAFe framework.

What are you going to do?

In Engineering & Maintenance, SAP, Maintenix and Documentum/xCP are the core systems, supplemented by specific vendor systems. In Digitising projects, we unlock these with mobile solutions based on Cordova/Ionic, with an API underlay. Together with business architecture colleagues, you draw up the domain architecture to support processes and information provision. Within the framework of set business requirements, architecture and operational guidelines, you give direction to feasible IT solutions. From the Business Transformation Plan, you identify which IT needs exist, which you anticipate by setting up or adapting reference architectures.
As a senior person, you take the lead in complex (often project-transcending) architecture discussions. You ensure that choices are clarified and recorded. In doing so, you interact with internal and external parties and Air France colleagues. You supervise the ICT architects of the product teams and invest in their professional maturity. You lead improvement activities that strengthen the department's architectural competence.

Where do you land?

You work together with two other domain architects and five architects on the development of the application landscape, in various projects, agile product teams and release trains. You meet weekly during the architecture consultation, exchanging knowledge and experiences. Every month, you travel to France to support your French colleagues.
