Introduction

Are you a curious and energetic student who enjoys combining IT with hands-on experience? At KLM Engineering & Maintenance (E&M), you’ll have the opportunity to work in a technical environment focused on improving the use of smart IT tools. You will help measure, analyze, and present insights to colleagues working in the hangars. You’ll build dashboards, use Google Analytics, and learn how digital solutions are enhancing the work of our technicians.

What are you going to do?

You will join the Airframe division, where digital tools are developed to make aircraft maintenance easier and smarter.

Together with product owners and users, you will investigate how these tools are being used. You will set up measurement plans, collect data, and build dashboards that provide real value to operations.

Your main tasks:

  • Measuring tool usage through Google Analytics

  • Building dashboards (e.g., in PowerBI)

  • Conducting field research and interviews

  • Providing insights into adoption and identifying improvement opportunities

Where do you land?

You’ll be based at Schiphol-Oost within Airframe, the maintenance division of KLM E&M. Around 1,200 colleagues work at Schiphol, and about 2,000 globally. You will collaborate with the Digitizing team within the Data Transformation & Continuous Improvement (DT&CI) department. This team focuses on initiatives such as data quality improvement, innovation, sustainability, and other enhancement projects.

You will interact with operational colleagues (in hangars and the Operations Control Center), other E&M interns, and IT teams. Your internship offers a dynamic mix of operational involvement, research, and development.

We work in a hybrid setup, but you will regularly be “in the field.”
