Independent, data-driven and future oriented; the best way to describe this internship! Would you like to help with the transformation journey of the Data, Transformation & Continuous Improvement (DTCI) department within the Component Services (CS) division? Data Management is essential in the transformation the department is facing. Are you excited by organising complex data, streamlining processes and working between business, IT and data teams? Are you analytical, proactive and eager to take ownership in a supportive team? Then this may be the internship for you.
What are you going to do?
You will play a key role in designing, documenting, and implementing new ways of working in data management, while contributing to broader transformation projects within CS. You’ll also support tooling and reporting improvements, develop visualisations, and drive AI-related use cases. No two days will be the same.
Your tasks will include:

Supporting the setup, documentation and implementation of the new data management methodology;

Accelerating business improvement projects by leading or taking part in the data stream of those projects;

Creating data models, data maintenance processes, data quality standards and reports and end user training;

Managing or support data cleansing and migration activities;

Contributing to identifying use cases for AI tool development in collaboration with stakeholders;

Organizing and documenting the data structure files and maintaining automation scripts to streamline file preparation and reduce duplication;

Identifying optimization opportunities in existing data management processes;

Coordinating and facilitating workshops / stakeholder interviews with designers, business owners, IT architects to define ways of working.
Where do you land?
You will land at Schiphol-East, in Hangar 14 to be precise. This is one of the two locations of Component Services, which is part of KLM Engineering & Maintenance (KLM E&M), KLM’s maintenance division. Together with Air France Industries (AFI), KLM E&M is a leading player in the global aircraft maintenance industry. In addition to maintaining the KLM and Air France fleet, KLM E&M and AFI service the aircraft, engines, and components of around 200 customers worldwide. You will work at Component Services, the unit responsible for maintaining components and ensuring component availability for both Air France KLM and external clients.
Your profile
A WO-Bachelor or master students who are passionate about data and eager to make an impact. Your study background is less important than your mindset. This is a working internship.
You are:
- Proactive and not afraid to make mistakes
- Able to work independently but enjoy collaborating in a team setting
- A self-starter with a strong personality who likes new challenges
- Strong in communication, and not afraid to share your opinion and advice
- Comfortable with technical tools like Python, Jira, Confluence and data visualisation platforms (or ready to learn!)
- Analytical, precise, and result oriented
- You are enrolled in a Dutch educational institution during the whole internship period
- You are available from September 1st for 4-5 days a week, for a period of at least 5-6 months
