What are you going to do?
As a data engineering intern, you will contribute to our data engineering projects and cloud migration. You will work with advanced technologies such as Scala, Spark, Dataproc, BigQuery, and Bigtable to create robust data infrastructures.
You can choose one of two projects:
BigQuery Table Creation:
You'll assist in automating BigQuery table creation and enhance documentation processes.
Additionally:
- you'll develop solutions for automatically publishing documentation;
- you'll design mechanisms for generating code for ETL processes.
Data Quality Monitoring:
This project provides an opportunity to delve into data quality monitoring processes within our cloud-based data infrastructure, focusing on automating and enhancing our current methodologies.
Additionally:
- you'll improve data quality checks within our data sources;
- you'll develop automated alert systems for data quality warnings.
Where do you land?
You will become part of the Dakota team at KLM, working closely with colleagues focused on enhancing operational and customer-focused data solutions. This dynamic environment offers ample opportunities for innovation and personal development. The location for this internship is at Schiphol East, KLM building 133.
Your profile
You have a keen eye for detail and solve problems quickly and effectively. You communicate clearly and work well in a team setting.
Additionally:
- you have experience with Scala or similar object-oriented languages, and functional programming;
- you are familiar with Spark and cloud technologies;
- you are pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field;
- you are available from September 1, 2025, and are enrolled in a higher education program.
