If you have been successful in the selection procedure, congratulations! As soon as a place becomes available, we will invite you to a basic course. During this course you learn all you need to know to start as a cabin attendant with us.

As well as a positive outcome, you need a declaration of no objection (Verklaring van Geen Bezwaar (VGB)) in order to start the course. This is issued by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Furthermore, your references check, the vetting & screening process and your medical examination must yield positive results. Everything sorted out? Then you can get started!

This is what you can expect

Phase 1: Preparation for the Basic Course

We want to make you aware of your new role on board. Therefore, we provide an opportunity to prepare for the basic course, also called phase 1. You go through this phase in your own time in a digital environment. You have four weeks to do it and it takes about 15 hours in total. The phase consists of various modules, which will prepare you for the entry exam. The exam takes place on day 3 of the basic course. If you pass the entry exam, you can continue with the rest of the course.

Phase 2: The Basic Course

The basic course is a full-time training course lasting 20 days that takes place at Schiphol-Oost. You take part in practical simulations and do various exams. You will also have an observation and training flight. During the course, you are responsible for your own learning path but we will of course support you as much as we can. The curriculum is in English.

It is an intensive course. Count on being needed at weekends and during evenings. The 20 course days are spread over about a month. These days could also be in the weekend. During the course there is no opportunity to request leave.

Phase 3: Employment contract

If you have successfully completed the basic course, we will be happy to offer you a one-year contract. From now on, the world is at your feet.

Development options

During your employment contract, we will actively support you to develop further within your new role.

Remuneration

During the 20-day basic course, we will pay you a gross remuneration of € 1721.07. This is subject to change.
