Putting your back into it to remain number one

Our experience and our knowledge have taken us far. That's a good job too, as our customers depend upon our flexibility and service. In order to remain at the forefront in data driven cargo transport we are constantly distinguishing ourselves. We transport ever more cargo in our passenger airplanes. This enables KLM Cargo to carry out unique routes with full 'bellies'. Thanks to our innovative cargo sorting system, we can also handle mail and e-commerce parcels with the utmost precision and speed.

Meet the crew

Linde van As, Unit Manager Documentation Cargo

‘I put what I learned at Recruitment to good use here: listen attentively!’

From an office job to typical operations dynamics: unit manager Documentation Linde knows all about it. She began her KLM career as a recruiter and spread her wings to work at Cargo. After gaining operational experience and a project management role, she now stands her ground as a manager. ‘At Recruitment it's all about people and processes. At Cargo it’s all about people, processes and freight. A real 24/7 business where the door is always open. I love that dynamic, which is why I'm really enjoying it here.’

Arnoud Wink, Manager Border Control & Regulatory Affairs

‘Your package from China is far more interesting once you comprehend the complexity of the journey that your package has made.’

‘The word “freight” does not sound sexy to some people. I beg to disagree. When I think of “cargo” I think of the daily contact we have with our colleagues and handling agents worldwide. The 24/7 dynamics of KLM Cargo, with a very tangible operation that never stops. And the impact that we can have on a crisis, for example by transporting COVID vaccines across the world. Freight is not sexy? My colleagues and I tend to disagree.’
