KLM Cityhopper Cabin crew
Ultimate service on short flights
You have what it takes to provide the best service, even on shorter flights. Time and attention for our passengers is your priority. As there are only two of you on board, you have a lot of responsibility. You relish the challenge and can tackle it like no other.

Your profile
We are looking for customer-focused go-getters, who are still energetic and positive even after a long day's work. Additionally:
- You are at least 18 years old and between 1.58 and 1.85 meters tall
- You have a minimum senior general secondary education (havo) or intermediate vocational education diploma (mbo, level 3) and speak good English and Dutch
- You have at least 1 1/2 years’ work experience in a service-oriented environment
- You have no visible tattoos, piercings or other bodily decorations
- You can be at Schiphol within one hour
Sounds like something for you?
- Your schedule is planned one month in advance.
- You work 80 hours per two weeks. Sometimes you have one day off a week, and at other times two or three days.
- Per week, you are away from home for one to four consecutive nights. A lot of your free time will be spent at your destinations.
You may be scheduled for 40 hours, but be away from home for 70 hours in that week. We therefore put a lot of demands on your flexibility and free time. So, that needs to suit you.
Selection procedure
You need to be made of the right stuff to make a difference in the air. Do you also meet the basic requirements? Then we look forward to receiving your application.
- Round 1: CV-selection
- Round 2: Record a video explaining your motivation
- Round 3: Oral English exam
- Round 4: Meet & Greet and short presentation

Training
Have you successfully completed the selection procedure? Congratulations! As soon as there is a place available, we will invite you to our training course where you will learn all you need to know to successfully take to the air.
- Phase 1: Preparation for the training course using our e-learning programme (duration 40 hours)
- Phase 2: A 33-day, full-time training course at Schiphol-North.
- Upon successful completion of the basic course, we will offer you a five-year contract with a probationary period of 2 months.
Meet the crew
Constance Dercksen
Senior cabin attendant
‘At Cityhopper we work with a small team. This means lots of responsibility.’
'European flights are short and therefore you really have to "roll up your sleeves". But you get a lot of satisfaction from hard work. I've visited cities which I wouldn't usually go to and in my secondary job as line trainer, I train new colleagues. So, it's never boring. As soon as I report to the crew centre I leave everything in my personal life behind me and am 100% focused on my work.'
Steven Leach
Cabin Supervisor
‘Besides flying, there are endless opportunities for individual growth and development’
‘I work as a Cabin Supervisor at KLM Cityhopper, and I feel fortunate to be able to express myself freely in my role. This allows me to add a personal touch to every flight alongside my colleagues. Apart from my primary flying duties, there are numerous opportunities to utilize my skills in other areas. For example, I am a native speaker, which makes me eligible for the Language Assessor role at KLC Recruitment. KLC provides a wide range of secondary positions and opportunities for individual growth and development.’
